Chevell Parker at SAS Institute has written a
paper (pdf) on new SAS 9.1 features that involve MS Office Integration. Here is the Introduction to the paper:
This document is created to demonstrate how to take advantage of SAS/MS Office integration. In particular, this shows how to make the most of SAS/MS Office integration from SAS 9.1 going forward. We discuss the methods that you used prior to SAS 9.1 as well as new methods developed. Everything that we have done in the past releases that you were happy with can still be done in SAS 9.1 and going forward, however, there are some changes that you should be aware of. There are many things that we can do which could be done in Version 8.2 such as fully customizing Excel files from SAS which we will explore in 9.1. We will look at enhancements beginning with ODS and move forward. The largest integration has been with the MS Office Add-in product which is very impressive in how it allows you to have the best of both worlds. As you will see, the ability to integrate SAS output with MS Office has become even stronger with the current release.
