Goodnight Steps Down at SAS; Will Head GVSUG

Dr. James Goodnight, CEO of SAS Institute, today announced that he will step down as CEO of SAS so that he can run GVSUG. “It has always been a dream of mine to run a local SAS user’s group, and GVSUG seems like the perfect fit”. Goodnight, who owns 2/3 of SAS Institute, will reportedly seek to obtain 2/3 ownership of GVSUG. “I just like the number 2/3”, he said.

Employees at SAS Institute were stunned. One employee, Warren Kuhfeld, said, “With Goodnight gone, am I going to be allowed to write 857 page reports like I used to?” Another employee, Petra Locke, worried “Goodnight loved Vanilla Coke. I love Vanilla Coke. But with him gone, will they still carry Vanilla Coke in the vending machines? It’s the end of civilization as we know it!”

Members of GVSUG were elated. According to GVSUG member Keisha Boughton, “I think GVSUG kinda lost focus after that Bart Simpson debacle. We were the laughingstock of all SAS Users Groups. I’m sure Goodnight will be able to fix our reputation.”

Goodnight is already planning to move to Rochester, and is considering buying the former Rochester fast ferry for GVSUG. According to Goodnight, there is a huge market of Torontonians who will want to use the fast ferry to attend GVSUG meetings.
