I justed wanted to say that our Fall Meeting was a great hit, a definite smash!
Mike Molter gave a great keynote talk entitled “Tips and Tricks for Creating the Reports Your Clients Need to See”. He gave us some great tips on some of the lesser known features of PROC REPORT and ODS. Mike was the former chair of GVSUG and so it was wonderful to have him come back home and share with the group. Mike is currently a Principal Statistical Programmer with a company in North Carolina called INC. (more…)

I’m writing to announce the winners from the GVSUG Executive Board election held during our fall meeting last week. While the results are no surprise to those who were in attendance, this will serve as an update for members who could not be there. All candidates ran uncontested and, with the exception of some minor shuffling resulting from Adam LaManna’s departure, all incumbents were unanimously re-elected for the 2009 term. (more…)

Dear Members,
It is my unhappy duty to inform you that we are losing an executive committee member and dear friend; Adam LaManna. Adam has been the treasurer for GVSUG for several years now and has been a driving force in the organization. Adam has been invaluable to the GVSUG and to me in particular as he has functioned not only as a treasurer but as a sounding board for important GVSUG business.
We shall miss him and wish him well as he begins a new chapter of his life in North Carolina. Please join me in extending to him a warm thanks for all the wonderful work he has done for GVSUG over the years.
Sincerely,
Joseph J Guido,
GVSUG Chair

Here is a quick reminder that we’ll be having our usual, and highly informal, SAS’n'Suds gathering right after the Fall Meeting breaks up (around 6pm Tuesday). We’ll be meeting up in the lounge/bar at the front of the RIT Inn and Conference Center.
All are welcome. Come join us in toasting our new members, conference speakers, and the continuing excellence of the SAS system.
Joe Guido,
GVSUG Chair

In preparation for the GVSUG Logo Contest being held at our Fall 2008 Meeting (this Tuesday!), I’m posting the five entries we have thus far received (see the full post for logo submissions).
Remember, a winning submission will net you a PharmaSUG conference bag stuffed with various and sundry cool conference goodies. So, if anyone out there is still working on their logo submission, please send a copy to Joe Guido ASAP so we can include it in the judging.

As the second of my sequence of posts on the new features of the GVSUG site, I wanted to point out that every News post now has its own page. This enables us to publish a large volume of material (and any associated comments) without needlessly cluttering up our main News page.
You can always access the full page for any post by clicking on its headline. Posts having more than a couple of paragraphs of text are automatically split up with a link that reads:
“Read the rest of this entry…”
Clicking this link will also take you to the full page (and continued text) for the post.
