Our Fall Meeting is set for Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 3-6pm (registration at 2:30pm).  The VENUE has CHANGED for THIS MEETING!!!  We will be meeting at the Chair’s workplace (120 Corporate Woods, Suite 350 (behind Phillip’s European Restaurant).  It should be a great meeting as we have Jason Secosky giving us PART DEUX - A SAMPLER OF WHAT’S NEW IN SAS® 9.2This presentation will highlight new features in DATA step, Macro, and ODS, and show how coding with SAS is easier than ever with SAS 9.2. Key topics include:

  • Uses for PROC FCMP
  • A procedure for writing functions with DATA step source
  • Secure stored macros
  • Small, yet significant additions to DATA step
  • The pre-production DATA step/ODS interface for custom reporting

Our own Bill Csont (GVSUG executive committee member) will give a talk entitled  “Panning for Gold: Nuggets of Helpful SAS® Code”

Examples in this presentation include:

  • use of a colon modifier to delete temporary datasets,
  • special use of the sum function for contiguous variables,
  • importing of a Microsoft Excel worksheet through use of DDE, a many to many merge that is performed using a data step
  • a method printing placeholder output to the output window when a dataset has no values.
