Spring 2006 Meeting Announcement

The Spring 2006 meeting will take place Wednesday April 5, 2006 at the RIT Inn and Conference Center. Register online or on-site registration will begin at 2:30, the meeting will begin at precisely 3:00, and last until about 6:15. As always, please join us for SAS ‘n Suds afterward, conveniently located in the hotel restaurant.

The keynote speaker will be Vince DelGobbo from SAS Institute. Vince’s paper "Moving Data and Analytical Results Between SAS and Microsoft Office" has been extremely popular at user group meetings across the nation. You can read a little more about it here. He has also prepared a follow-up to this paper which he will be presenting at NESUG this fall. We are not yet sure which of the two he will be presenting to us, but either one will be great.

The rest of the presentations have not yet been finalized. However, we will be dedicating a block of time to a session we are calling “Tips and Tricks”. If you have a useful technique or tip that others could benefit from, and you are willing to spend 5 to 10 minutes talking about it, please submit a brief abstract (just a few sentences) here, and please indicate 5 or 10 minutes where prompted.

Happy Hour Recap

Twelve members of GVSUG gathered at SPoT Coffee on 2/28/2006 to talk about SAS and to network with fellow users. Some of the topics of conversation were embedding charts in tabular output, the SAS certification program and PROC TRANSPOSE.

For the three scheduled GVSUG Happy Hours to date, between 10 and 15 members have attended each of the events. If you have any ideas for disucssion topics or locations for future gatherings, please contact anyone on the Executive Committee.
