SQL Webinar Recap

SAS Press sponsored Kirk Lafler's free Webinar titled "Tips and Techniques for Producing Quick Results with PROC SQL" on Thursday May 25, 2006. Lafler, author of the book "PROC SQL: Beyond the Basics Using SAS", discussed database management techniques such as integrity constraints and index creation, creating fields with the CASE statement, and reporting query results in various output destinations through ODS. Presentations from past Webinars have been made available a couple of weeks following the event.

Participation at NESUG

Members of GVSUG are actively contributing to the Northeast SAS Users Group Conference this year in Philadelphia. Earl Westerlund serves on the NESUG Executive Committee. Earl's responsibilities include providing support for the NESUG website and serving as the liaison to the Local User Groups (LUGs) in the NESUG region. Serving as Section Co-Chairs are Steve LaLonde (Data Manipulation & Analysis) and Mike Molter (Applications Development). Mike will also be participating in a panel discussion focusing on LUGs. Contributing papers to the conference are Adam LaManna, Joe Guido, Paul Winters, Adam Rains, Ken Borowiak and Molter.
